Kindly refer the discussion we had couple of months back. You were looking for a deserving Project that would require minimal funding at the same time would create a large impact.

 

I recently received a request that might be in line with your Table’s requirement. Please go through the below details and let your Floor take a decision based on merits (I have visited this School twice and have interacted with all concerned officials and stakeholders) -

 

Project brief:

• Gandhi Nagar Govt High School, is within Coimbatore Corporation Limits
  
• Over 300 Children are studying in the school out of which around 200 are orphan girls and boys
  
• Existing building of the school is very old and is unfit for occupation; recently they have obtained permission for demolition as the building is unsafe.
  
• Presently only 3 classrooms are in good condition
  
• The School needs at least 4 more class rooms
  
• A local well-wisher with assurance from lions Club Members for financial support started construction of 4 Class Room Block
  
• Lions Club Members failed to keep up their promise and the local well-wisher deployed his personal funds of Rs. 20 Lakhs into the construction till date
  
• 80% of the works have been completed including Roof Concrete, brick work and plastering
  
• Balance 20% of the work could not be completed as the individual is not able to mobilize further funds
  
• Rs. 4 Lakhs is further required for completing the balance works
  
• The School H.M / Lead India Coordinator are now requesting the support of Round Table / Rotary for completion of the building
  
• Volunteers of Lead India, a movement founded by Former President of India Mr. APJ. Abdul Kalam have been associated with this school for over 2 years on coaching the children for academic as well as co-curricular activities.
  
• Abdul Kalam had assured that he would inaugurate the Classroom Blocks on completion

Project take aways:

• Very deserving project, will really serve a needy cause
  
• Large Project in terms of size, value and impact
  
• Only Rs. 4 Lakhs is required to be mobilized
  
• Very short turn around time – project can be completed in 30 to 45 days
  
• Very good Publicity and branding for Round Table
  

I have also given an outline of this Project to Tr. Dr. Aanand today. Please let me know if there are any clarifications. If you are interested in taking this up, I will personally put you in touch with all concerned stakeholders.
