Subject: [SCA-Northshield] Order of the Mark Vigilants Announced!

 

On behalf of Their Majesties:

Unto all those who inhabit the Stellar Kingdom of Northshield do King Skio and Queen Aelina send greetings!

It is Our great honor today to call the three principal members of the Order of the Mark to be recognized for their prowess and service to the ranged martial arts and their community. By Our own observation, and by the recommendations of the populace, We know that these gentles have honed their skills to high levels of martial prowess, shared their knowledge of those skills to inspire others, and given generously of their time to build up their martial community, the Kingdom, and the Society. These three people will form the foundation of the Order in Northshield and will consult with the Crown to establish its customs and traditions and to expand its membership in the years to come.

Thus do we proclaim the names of the three principal members of the Order of the Mark to be

Master Viði Hovdestad for prowess and his extensive research into the history and art of archery

Baroness Moira nicConnell the Strongbow for prowess and her decades of teaching on the archery field

ban tigherna Aine ingen MaelPatraic for prowess and her extensive work in the thrown weapons community

All three of these gentles have demonstrated Prowess and Service well beyond expectations.

We invite these gentles to sit their vigils, at the time and place of their choosing, and contemplate their own experiences and the advice of others, and to present themselves before Us to be elevated as Companions of the Order of the Mark at the Northshield Kingdom Arts & Sciences Faire on June 7, 2025, in the sixtieth year of the Society, in Our Barony of Nordskogen, or at another time of their choosing.

Please join Us if you can in Our court at Northshield Spring Crown Tournament to celebrate this announcement in person.

All three will be read into court on Saturday, June 7th, at Kingdom Arts & Sciences Faire and will therefore hold equal rank as Principals of the Order.
