Legionella bacteria can develop in water that has been exposed to impurities like rust, algae and limescale, in temperatures between 20C and 45C. The bacteria are dormant below 20C and do not survive above 60C (Source: HSE UK).
Note: The Bacteria Prevention icon (water drop with circle) is different from the hot water boost icon (no circle). To learn about these or any other icons that appear on your thermostat screen, visit our article about what you'll see on your Nest thermostat.
Turn on Water Lock to avoid unintended taps on the display when you wear your Apple Watch in water. When you get out, press and hold the Digital Crown to clear water from your watch's speaker. Here's how.
When Water Lock is on, your Apple Watch doesn't respond to touch on its display. This prevents accidental input while you're in water. When you turn off Water Lock, your watch ejects any water that remains in its speaker.
With Water Lock turned on, press and hold* the Digital Crown on the side of your Apple Watch until the display says Unlocked. A series of tones plays to clear any water that remains in the speaker, and then you can use your display as usual.
* If your Apple Watch has watchOS 8 or earlier, rotate the Digital Crown instead of pressing it.
As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the Water Lock feature on Apple Watch is designed to help protect the device from water damage by temporarily disabling the screen's touch functionality and ejecting any water from the speaker. However, it's important to note that Apple may make updates to its operating system and feature availability over time.
My nest thermostat has been running for about 5 days. Today I have an icon which is yellow circle with a black water drop in it. What does this mean? My thermostat is in eco currently, there is a hot water schedule set but we are currently out of that period. It is not the yellow gear with a leaf, I can find no reference to it on Nest support.
To keep you from accidentally tapping the watch face while in the water, Apple Watches are equipped with a Water Lock feature that temporarily locks the screen and helps clear out any water from the speaker when you're back on dry land.
When you turn off Water Lock, your Apple Watch will emit a few short sounds to clear water from the watch speaker. If you forget to turn on Water Lock before going into the water, the water resistance of your Apple Watch doesn't change (just your ability to interact with the screen).
The Apple Watch can sometimes display a water drop icon at the top of the screen, but what does that mean, and how does it affect users? The Apple Watch uses icons effectively to display more information on its tiny screen, but that can lead to some confusion over what certain icons mean. The device displays several icons on the dial, including many in the Control Center. While some of these are self-explanatory, others, like the water drop icon, can be a bit confusing for first-time Apple Watch users.
The good news is that the water drop icon is related to a unique feature that keeps Apple Watches safe from water damage. The icon indicates that the Water Lock feature is turned on, preventing users from accidentally interacting with the Apple Watch screen while in the water. Apple Watches are waterproof up to a depth of 50 meters, meaning users can not only wear them while doing the dishes or jogging in the rain but even while swimming in a pool or a shallow lake. This is where the Water Lock feature comes in handy, as it temporarily locks the screen while the device is underwater, and then clears out any residual water from the speaker when the user is back on dry land.
To turn on the Water Lock feature on an Apple Watch, swipe up on the watch face to open the Control Center. Now scroll down until the water drop symbol is visible, and tap it to enable the feature. Once Water Lock is activated, a blue/green drop of water will be visible at the top of the screen. The feature is automatically enabled when starting a water-based activity, like swimming or surfing. On the Apple Watch Ultra, the feature is also automatically switched on when the user begins a scuba dive.
When the Water Lock is switched off, the Apple Watch will emit a series of sounds to clear out water from the speaker. Users can also clear out water manually from the Apple Watch speaker by turning Water Lock on and off once they are done with their water activity. Water Lock isn't mandatory to use an Apple Watch in the water, as the device will remain waterproof even if the feature is activated or not. However, without Water Lock, the Apple Watch screen will remain functional and increase the chance of accidental inputs.
The Apple Watch is meant to be worn pretty much 24/7, whether you're working out, sleeping, or even bathing. While the device is water-resistant (not waterproof), its screen is still pretty sensitive, and you don't want to accidentally tap it while swimming or showering.
Water Lock, indicated by the water drop icon, is exactly what it sounds like: it's a feature that locks your watch while you're in the water, so that you don't inadvertently activate the screen or get water inside the device. It's a great protective measure for your device and it's relatively easy to use.
This button has two functions. Firstly, it can turn off the alarm which sounds when the door is left open, but you can also hold the alarm button to reset the water filter icon when changing the filter.
Your water filter should be changed every six months based on average use. This icon will light up blue upon first changing the filter, changing to pink after five months of usage, before finally turning red after the filter has been used for six months.

If you need this icon available in another format, it should be pretty straight forward to download it as an SVG image file, and then import it into apps like Crello, Fotor, Sketch or Snappa. Converting it to an ICO, JPEG or WebP image format or file type should also be pretty simple (we hope to add that feature to Iconduck soon).

In most cases, your phone is simply informing you that there is moisture in your charging port. But at times, this message could be a false alarm. Either way, how can you get rid of the water drop icon or error alarm on your Samsung phone?
There is a popular myth that putting water-drenched devices in a bowl of rice absorbs moisture. That's not correct; dipping your phone's charging port in rice will cause more harm than good. You can either cover the phone's port with silica gel sachets or submerge it in rubbing alcohol instead. Better still, you can just wait for it to dry naturally with time, as some hours in a well-ventilated area should do the trick.
If you still get the "Moisture detected" error message after your phone is dry, consider clearing the USB cache data in your phone's settings. Over time, your USB cache can become corrupted or outdated, causing issues with USB connections and triggering the water drop icon.
The home icon appears when a Classic product connected with the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App runs a special mode like Night Ice Mode or Vacation Mode. The home icon turns off when the mode is turned off.
It activates automatically should you start a water-based workout like swimming, but it can also be turned on manually via the Control Center, which you can get to by swiping up on your watch's screen. You'll know it's on because you'll see the small water drop icon at the top of your watch's screen.
It is necessary for life and good health. Unfortunately, water is also an effective conduit that can carry a wide variety of impurities into our homes that make us sick. These impurities can range from organic compounds and bacteria to synthetic chemicals or toxic metals. The worst contaminants found in drinking water like arsenic, radon, or uranium can go undetected for years because they also are odorless, tasteless, and colorless.
