[Monarch Ultimate]

Hello all,

Here's what you need to know about this year's Monarch Invite!

When: October 4th - 5th

Where: Monarch High School

Divisions

Mixed Division 

• 4:3 ratio (min) required
• 2 day tournament
• 10 team maximum

Development Division

• No gender ratio requirement
• 2 day tournament (assuming enough interest)
• 6 team maximum
• Gameplay will be 5v5 - this is due to a couple of factors.... 1) field space - these will be slightly smaller sized fields, 2) we hope this increases touches amongst players, 3) We'd like teams to have a 2 day tournament experience and feel 5v5 will allow for enough subs to make it through 2 days.
• Depending on the interest level and sizes of teams rosters, we can change details up

Registration

Despite being named the Monarch Invite, this is a first come first serve basis for registration. Due to field space limitations, we can host a maximum of 10 mixed teams and 6 development teams. We ask that if your program has both an A and a B team in the mixed league, that you only register one team to start. We'd like to give as many schools as possible the option to join. If we have slots left, we can then open up the mixed division to B teams. Likewise with the development division.

Is there another mid season tournament for B teams- beside Ultimate Knightmare? How many B teams are there? Can we register B with our developmental team to give them a playing opportunity? Thanks! Becca

Currently, there is not another midseason tournament specifically for B teams. Still in the works is a one day round robin for B teams. Pueblo really wants to get some games in and they would be best suited to match up with some B teams. I'm hoping to get Fairview B, East, B, CO Academy B, and Pueblo together sometime, but details still tbd.

The B team should not play in the Development league, but definitely register your C team for that! If a few of the lower end B teamers need to join the Dev team for numbers, that's fine, though it will be 5v5.

All that said, I'm guessing that we end up with a slot or two for B teams in the Mixed division. From previous years, most of the South Denver teams, other than Lakewood, did not elect to come. We'll see if it changes this year. I will probably send out a second call for teams tomorrow, and will be setting a deadline, probably by Monday, for teams to sign up before we open it up to B teams. I'll let you all know what it's looking like! Also look for an email about a potential round robin day for B teams.
