2011 Mixed State Championships!

Hello Teams,

This is a final informational e-mail that should answer any remaining questions you might have headed into the tournament.

Fields
- First of all, as you all know the weather could be an issue for us this weekend. Not so much weather coming this weekend, but the melting snow causing the fields to be too soft to play on. We will get notification on whether or not the fields will be open this weekend tomorrow (Friday) at 3pm. I will let you all know as soon as I find out one way or the other. If the fields end up being closed we have mapped out a couple back up plans:

Plan B: I am still waiting to get confirmation on this, but it looks like the Fort Logan fields may be available to us next weekend. If this is the case, our best bet may be to reschedule for next weekend. If for whatever reason your team is unable to play next weekend your tournament fee will be refunded/check torn up.

Plan C: The East Boulder Community Rec Center has 2 nice turf fields. With 19 teams we would need to find two additional turf fields (maybe at Fairview/Boulder HS?). Being at separate locations is less than ideal, but finding 8 ultimate fields all together (especially all turf) is going to be tough.

Rostering and Paperwork
 Many of you are all squared a way with roster stuff. For those of you that are not, here is what you need to know:
- Any players not up to date that register or sign a waiver online need to bring a printout of their login page which shows that their membership is complete
- You may also bring a paper roster and/or membership form (checks for dues made out to USA Ultimate)
- Chaperones need to carry a medical authorization form for any players under 18 (you do not need to turn this in to us)
- Any players not currently on your online roster will need to be added on a paper roster.

Chaperones
I believe most teams are all set with cleared chaperones, however I believe there are a couple that are needing to scramble to find one (Fairview and Heritage?). If you or someone you know is a USAU cleared chaperone, not already with a team, and willing to be at the tournament please let us know. If your team is still in search of a chaperone I suggest you use the COHS e-mail list or facebook to try and find one ASAP!

Schedule and Parking

- Note: Pool E is a 3 team round robin on Sunday for the bottom three teams
- We CAN NOT park in the hospital parking lot east of the fields at any time this weekend! We will have some volunteers helping direct parking, as well as signs. Please pass this on to your team so they know not to park there.

Hi Everyone,

I've got bad news - the fields have been officially closed for Saturday. I apologize for the wait on getting an official call - communication has been very bad on the Fort Logan field management side. In the end they never contacted me directly and I found out the field status from a phone hotline (which they never told me existed).

It was a very tough decision, but we have decided to postpone the tournament until next weekend. I understand that this may be problematic to some teams who have players with other commitments next weekend - for that I am deeply sorry. If for whatever reason your team is unable to compete next weekend please let us know by this coming Wednesday and we will refund your tournament fee.

With the exception of the tournament schedule changing slightly due to any teams that have to drop, everything else should remain the same. We will plan on the same start time and fields as originally planned.

Again, I am very sorry for any inconvenience that this causes. If you have any questions please let me know.

Hi All,

This is just a quick reminder that if your team is unable to play this weekend you must let us know by the end of the night Tuesday (tomorrow). If you let us know by tomorrow night, your tournament fee will be refunded.

Our fields are confirmed for Saturday. On Sunday we may need to have some fields at CA, which is just down 285 from the Fort Logan fields.

I have requested that USAU re-open online rostering until Wednesday, but I haven't heard back yet.

Online rostering has been re-opened until Thursday at 5pm! Please take advantage of this, so that we all have less paperwork to deal with at the fields Saturday morning.

Also, remember to let us know if your team will not be able to make the tournament this weekend by tonight so that we can adjust the schedule accordingly.

Hey Everyone,

I hope everyone is excited to play this weekend. It looks like the weather is going to cooperate this week (fingers crossed).

Please note that Saturday all games will be at Fort Logan. Sunday the championship bracket will be at Fort Logan, and all other games will be at CA. Colorado Academy is right down the road from Fort Logan, here is a map.

Also, Online Rostering is still open today until 5pm. If you have any additions to make, it will probably be easier to take care of online today than at the field on Saturday.

Hello Everyone,

This is just a quick reminder e-mail about how things are going to go tomorrow morning.

- First games start at 9am
- We will begin registration at 8am
- There will be a captain's meeting at 9:40am

Please remind your team and any parents attending: DO NOT PARK IN THE HOSPITAL PARKING LOT TO THE EAST OF THE FIELD!

- If you have any players that paid membership online they must bring a printout of their login page showing that their membership is complete.
- I have attached a .pdf of the membership/waiver form and paper roster. We will also have copies on site.
- We will have a limited amount of jugs of water at tournament central, any water your team can bring to the field is appreciated.
- State Championship Discs will be on sale for $8 (Cash or check made out to Colorado Youth Ultimate) Saturday will be the best day to buy discs since we will all be in one location.

Hey Everyone,

Congratulations on a great day of play!

There are a couple of important things to note headed into Sunday, please pass on to your teams:

1) All games will be at Fort Logan except for the 2 bottom round robins of 3, which will be at Colorado Academy(9th place bracket will be at Fort Logan)

2) The field numbers have been switched up to put the semis and finals on the best fields. Be sure to check the big board for your field assignments in the morning.

3) Remember to record your spirit scores and turn them in to tourney central right after your last game.

4) Discs will be on sale again for $8. Also be sure to support our local club team, Johnny Bravo, they will have merchandise for sale at tourney central.

5) Heritage, Littleton, RMSEL, and CIVA have unresolved roster issues. Please take care of this ASAP tomorrow. If you have questions about what you still need to turn in, let us know. Please Note: If you have players that were added to a paper roster you must provide their membership dues or have a printout of their USA Ultimate login page showing that their membership is complete!
