Providing a glimpse into the future of elite-level ultimate, the WFDF World Junior Ultimate Championships (WJUC) occur every two years, shining a spotlight on the world’s best young ultimate players. A flourishing high school and youth club scene in the United States creates a deep pool of talent, resulting in both a highly competitive tryout process for athletes and difficult choices for USA Ultimate coaches, in fielding three teams – open/men’s, women’s, and mixed gender. Since Team USA began competing in the event in 1988, every team has finished on the podium, collectively winning 16 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze medals. |
