Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone has been enjoying the start of the fall season and getting in good games and practices. We’re getting ready for the State Championships, coming up soon! Please see below for information about the State Championships, early bids, and other information about the season.
Colorado HS Mixed Division State Championships
When: November 1-2
Where: Stenger Sports Complex in Arvada
Divisions: DI Mixed (2 days), DII Mixed (2 days), Developmental (1 day)
Tournament Fee: $450 for Mixed division, $250 for Developmental division
The Deadline to Submit your Early Bid for the State Championships is Friday, October 3rd!
Click Here to Submit Your Early Bid >>>
The early bid form is how we collect our list of teams to follow up with deadlines and plan the format for the tournament. Please get this submitted ASAP!
FYI, submitting an early bid does not fully commit you to playing at the State tournament - it is more of an interest survey.
The Altitude Ultimate State Championships page has been updated with all of the information and important deadlines for this fall. Please check there for a full list of deadlines.
We require a minimum of 12 players (5 female-matching and 7 male-matching for mixed season) on your roster to compete at the State Championships! We require a minimum of 5 girls on your roster to compete at the Mixed State Championships! If you do not think you can field this number of players please let us know in the Early Bid Form and we will do our best to help. For the Mixed Division we require that a 4:3 ratio of Male matching to Female matching players be on the field at all times.
We will be following up with information on qualifying for Division 1 Mixed if needed in mid-October.
See below for some more information and reminders about the season.

CDP Certification
All teams competing at the State Championships must have at least one coach on the roster with CDP Certification.
If your team does NOT have a CDP Certified Coach, please visit this page and follow the process (can be done completely virtual now). We do recommend that ALL coaches helping with a team get CDP Certified, or at minimum complete the Foundational Coach Training.
All rostered coaches will also need Safe Sport and an active background check.
Eligibility Exception Requests
Per USAU Eligibility Rules, if you have ANY players who do not attend the school they are competing for full time, they must submit an eligibility exception request. You can view the guidelines that we use to determine approval of exception requests here >>>
Requests are due by Friday, October 10th and you can Submit an Eligibility Exception Request Here >>>
Score Reporting
Please remember to submit scores and spirit scores immediately following each league game using our score reporter. Spirit scores should be done by players following each game. We will have spirit prizes this season for teams in each division (Mixed and Mixed Development) with the highest spirit scores from league games. Teams must submit scores for at least 70% of their scheduled league games in order to be eligible to receive the spirit award.
Upcoming Clinics
There are 2 upcoming clinics for high school players, and these are a good opportunity for players to learn from experienced players. Please forward information about these clinics to your team.
CU Mamabird Clinic led by CU Boulder men’s players on Sunday, September 28 at Fairview HS from 12-2:30 PM
Advanced Skills Clinic led by Colorado Alpenglow & Summit players on Sunday, October 12 at City Park from 2:30-5 PM - a flyer is attached
Upcoming Tournaments
In addition to the State tournament, there are 2 midseason tournaments scheduled. Thank you to Monarch and Fairview’s teams for hosting these tournaments!
Monarch Invite - October 4-5 at Monarch HS
Ultimate Knightmare - October 26 at Fairview HS
Resources for Coaches
We have a folder of Resources for Coaches and Schools that has some good documents and articles that are helpful for coaches. We encourage coaches to check out these resources when possible.
There are also some new free trainings on coaching girls offered by USA Ultimate. These are good resources particularly for girls and mixed coaches.
