Further explanation of SYNMEDpos?

Hi, I am struggling to understand what SYNMEDpos is calulating. The documentation states 'This the minimum editorial distance score for part of speech tags.' For minimum edit distances I thought you needed two inputs e.g. for spelling mistakes what is the minimum edit distance between the misspelled word and the target word. So I'm unsure what is being calculated here. I can't seem to find any references in papers. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Thanks for the question. The description has been modified as follows:

This is the mean minimum editorial distance score between adjacent sentences computed from part of speech tags. Notice that the editing actions were performed on POS tags in two sentences instead of letters in two words. See Coh-Metrix book for details.
