Hello everyone,

My name is Nanna. I live in Copenhagen, Denmark. I moved back here in 2009 after seven years in the Middle East working with development aid. My spiritual journey started while in Cairo, after a sudden experience – of connectedness, in lack of a better word. It left me with a new sense of joy and deep trust, I started yoga and meditation practice, read a lot. Moving back to Denmark, my life changed in many ways, the biggest change becoming a mother. I live alone with my son Luka, who just turned three, his father lives in Cairo. The last years, I've also experienced that this inner sense of trust and surrender is somehow not as present anymore. Which is ironic, I sometimes feel, as experiencing such deep unconditional love to a child might cultivate exactly that? While both my work life (research) and social life is now much calmer than before, being full-time single mother still leaves less hours a day for practice, or.. require much more determination to keep it up.

So taking this course is an entry point, I hope, to re-connect and reestablish my practice. And get a deeper sense of the philosophy of the teachings. Becoming part of a group in this way seemed like the perfect opportunity for this! I too was very inspired by Michael's distinction between the literal and the Koan level of being the precepts. And experiencing what happens when you engage in an exchange without mentally preparing your responses. I met Michael very recently at a workshop in Copenhagen and was deeply inspired afterwards. By the combination of yoga and Budhist philosophy and practice. And by Michael’s way of communicating this.  When discovering this course at the Centre of Gravity website afterwards, I immediately felt inspired to join!

So, Im looking much forward to this journey with all of you! And I must say, already the first partner meeting – online and with someone previously unknown to me (thanks vanessa :) - was such a rewarding and intimate experience that I feel a great potential for exchange and support in this virtual new community of ours.

love
