Hi, I am slow to introduce myself, partly because I forgot this
aspect of the program (saw it last week!), then there were some I.T.
issues. Probably I am slow to introduce myself regardless.
I came to know about the Centre of Gravity through a 6-day intensive
in Contemplative Care put on here by Chodo and Koshin from New York.
It was a transformative experience, both in my work and personally.
During this workshop, I came to meet Michael and Carina, if only
briefly, and got a sense of the Centre of Gravity as a place I would
like to spend more time, and so have been checking the website now and
again – I am a bit slow to commit.
In the past, I have used Buddhism (via mindfulness as a start) more or
less like a life raft. As my life circumstances changed (stabilized) I
have felt that I’d like to explore and deepen this connection. I have
purposely avoided taking the precepts thinking I’d like to be in a
space where I have half a hope of honoring them. Now that I am 4 weeks
in, all I can say is, this is hard in ways I hadn’t expected and easy
in ways I expected to be more difficult. Which makes me laugh a
little :-)
Take good care,
Colleen
