Senior Technical Analyst

Location:

Responsibilities:
Design and develop Cognos cubes and reports within guidelines of the
TJX System Development Lifecycle.
Provide nightly batch on-call support when needed
Responsible for Cognos 8 Modeling activities using Framework Manager
Responsible for planning, installing, upgrading and optimizing Cognos
Application releases
Responsible for creating program specifications, construction, unit
testing, system testing, user test support, and implementation
activities for assigned projects under the direction of a manager.
Responsible for technical analysis and design of system requests,
production problems, and/or functional requirements.
Provide time estimates and control progress of assigned projects.
Provide manager with accurate feedback on project statuses.
Create system test plans and follow through with the testing and
documenting of the test results for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Assist with the technical guidance and training of other staff
members.

Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience using any Cognos Application
Minimum of 1 year experience using Cognos 8 including Modeling, Report
and Analysis Studios
Experience with SQL Server or DB2, (preferred) Databases REQUIRED
Experience with Metric and Event Studios is a plus
Experience with Oracle Database is a plus
Experience with DataStage is a plus
Ability to Model in Framework Manager using a Star Schema approach.
Advanced knowledge in Report and Analysis Studio Authoring
A quick understanding of business processes and systems is a key
success driver.
Strong communications skills and experience writing technical
specifications
Attention to detail, problem solving skills, technical analysis
expertise.
Good communication skills to work effectively with business analysts,
project managers, and other groups within a highly matrixed corporate
environment.
Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience required
