I downloaded the Camunda modeler source code from GitHub - camunda/camunda-modeler at v4.2.0 and built it on a windows 10 system (64 bit). Was able to generate the binary and everything worked fine as expected.
Now I tired to transfer the .zip file containing the modeler binaries to another system (again windows 10 64 bit), by creating a python server (python -m http.server 8000) and hitting the url at the other system to download it.
Currently in discussion is the weather we want to provided the recommended rules out of the box with both desktop and web modeler (they help to improve the quality of modeled diagrams, a benefit for everyone involved).

I was a bit surprised, that in the latest version of the Open Source modeler the ability to construct a CMMN model seems to have been taken out entirely, which is a pain for me, as I really like the modeler.
Likewise for example on Windows, you could start the .exe over the commandLine with the flag, or you could create a shortcut to the camunda-modeler.exe and append --no-disable-cmmn to the target of the shortcut.
I'm super new to Camunda and BPMN!!How do I collapse subprocess object in Camunda Modeler (standalone version)?
What I have seen in the side bar tool is just an icon to "Create expanded SubProcess". I firstly thought the modeler will provide an icon to create SubProcess (with plus symbol) and when double click on that object, it will automatically new a new bpmn diagram with some linkage. My scope of work is just create a process diagram, no engine needed. Thank you very much in advance,
