When you lock a credit card, recurring auto-payments will continue to get paid through the card. What happens if I use a locked card to sign up for Netflix? Will the payment after the "free trial" ends go through since it is a recurring payment, or will it get denied since it is a new charge?
You won't be able to do that in the first place. Netflix will check that the card is valid when you sign up (even though they may be giving you a free trial and not actually charging you yet). They'll see it's not legitimate and disallow you from using it.
An alternate way of explaining this is from the issuing bank's perspective. If the card is locked and then a brand new merchant attempts to set up a preauthorized transaction, the bank will deny the transaction.
The intent of locking a card is to stop new activity, not all activity or all non-recurring activity. Recurring payments that were established prior to the card being locked are allowed, but establishment of new recurring payments will not be allowed.
I renewed my Netflix subscription a couple months ago. Of course I can watch Netflix on my iPhone, my MacBook, and on my HD televison set which has an Apple TV attached to it. Each month, Netlix charges me a monthly fee. However, the monthly fee is automatically deducted through my iTunes account using the available credit I have on there. (Yes, I carry a balance of anywhere from $40 to $75 on iTunes for the **** of it.) I do NOT want my iTunes credit to be touched. I'd rather have iTunes/AppleTV/Netflix take the monthly fee from a credit card. I do have a credit card on file for my iTunes account, after all. Why should it default to my credit balance? How do I work around this?
If you want to be charged via your credit card then if you cancel your iTunes subscription then I think that you can subscribe through Netflix themselves and then link your devices to that - before you do that you may want to check Netlfix's help pages that it's possible to do and/or whether you can restart your existing subscription via them
We understand from your post that you would like to know if you can pay for your Netflix subscription with your iTunes gift card. If you subscribe to Netflix through iTunes, you can redeem your gift card to your Apple ID which can then be used to pay for your subscription.
I've been trying to sign up for Netflix using my Paypal account, but every time I go through the process of signing up it say's I need to enter a credit card.
I have a confirmed linked bank account and was hoping to use that, but it keeps insisting on a credit card, which I dont have as of yet. There has to be a way to do this, whats the point of paying through paypal if it's just going to use your credit card anyway?
I feel your pain. I was just on the phone with paypal and netflix, each blaming the other, each saying it should be no problem to use a bank acct linked with paypal acct to pay for netflix but the problem remains. I hate using my overused credit card for this and netflix shouldn't advertise this payment option if it doesn't actually work. Frustrating. Especially since I am now a confirmed Netflix addict.
I have had Netflix for about a year now. I have never used a credit card as I dont have any. I have my paypal linkied to my bank account and have never had a problem until last month. Now I am being asked by Paypal to link a credit card for some reason. I called paypal and they say that netflix is the one asking and not them. But i find that funny because its in my paypal account that its asking from. I also tried to purchase online yesterday(which i have also done with no problems before) and it did the same thing. I am getting frustrated becuase I keep getting the run around from paypal.

Does anyone know which credit card is better to subscribe Netflix or Hulu out of US bank Altitude Connect or Amex Platinum? Netflik has upgraded subscription for HD view for $19.99/month. Does either of these card pay full fees for the subscription? Your opinions please...Thanku
I have both cards- Amex Platinum and US bank Altitude Connect, but not sure which one I should use for my subscription with Netflik and Hulu...I don't watch both, very rarely Netflik, but since I am paying such hefty AF I think I should get the advantage of my benefits thru these fees/perks....
