11 Hopeful Charities
With just two weeks until the event, eleven charities are asking for our help. But the number of charities that GiveCamp can serve depends on how many volunteers sign up. With an average of 5-6 team members for every project, we are aiming for 65 volunteers at this year's Ann Arbor Give Camp, serving on projects from professional web sites to custom applications, covering .NET, PHP, Ruby, and more. Have you signed up for the 2013 Ann Arbor GiveCamp?

Proposal: Helping fight childhood cancer
The Michigan Childhood Cancer Foundation is a local non-profit that helps children suffering from childhood cancer through support, education, and advocacy. Last year, the submitted a proposal to Ann Arbor Give Camp 2012 for a new web site, but we did not have sufficient volunteers to help out. They tried to create their own but, as they put it, "it was basically a disaster." They are back with another proposal, crossed fingers, and crossed toes.
Proposal: Helping children read
Though many GiveCamp proposals are for a professional web presence, they aren't always. The Children's Literacy Network is struggling with their current donor tracking database. With our help, they can improve tracking and outreach to existing and potential donors, ultimately allowing them to grow as an organization and assist even more people in need.
Be the change you want to see
For every sixth volunteer that signs up, we add one more project. For every sixth volunteer, we accept one more charity. For every sixth volunteer, we realize one more dream. With our efforts, we can help fight cancer, fight violence, and fight illiteracy. For every sixth volunteer, we can make the world a better place.
Be that sixth volunteer and touch the world. Join Ann Arbor Give Camp 2013.
