                        | Join a pilot to try AI that helps you fix, clean, and understand your data — no coding neededThe Open Knowledge Foundation (OKFN) is opening up a second round of pilot participation to integrate the Open Data Editor (ODE) into the workflow of organisations, and this time we are testing the integration of responsible AI tools.

It is a three-month funded pilot, running from July to September 2025.

We are looking for organisations that already use spreadsheets to manage, report on, or publish data, and are curious about how AI could support this work. If you are interested in exploring AI tools that are ethical, transparent, and non-extractive — and want to play a role in shaping what responsible, human-centred AI looks like for data —, we would love to work with you.

                        | The Open Data Editor (ODE) is Open Knowledge’s new open source desktop application for nonprofits, data journalists, activists, and public servants, aiming at helping them detect errors in their datasets.  It’s a free, open-source tool designed for people working with tabular data (Excel, Google Sheets, CSV) who don’t know how to code or don’t have the programming skills to automatise the data exploration process.
Simple, lightweight, privacy-friendly, and built for real-world challenges like offline work and low-resource settings, ODE is part of OKFN’s The Tech We Want initiative — our ambitious effort to reimagine how technology is built and used. | |
