Hi everyone, I'm using Dropbox (firmware n. 166.3.2831) on my gaming laptop running Windows 11. Everything run smoothly until some days ago, when Dropbox suddenly became very slow when clicking to open folder or file: it takes MANY seconds (10-15 seconds at least). This causes a huge slowdown in the user experience, I can't even work in these circumstances.
Of course this is a problem related to the Dropbox folder only, local folders run as smooth as they should.
How can I fix that? Thanks.

EDIT: apparently there's a conflict between Dropbox and iCloud for Windows; deleting the latter, Dropbox app works.

I just tried this suggestion and installed the stable build. I wasn't sure whether to install the standard installer or the offline installer (doesn't appear to be a 64 bit), so I tried both of them. No difference. It takes forever to open a small file; no difference as to what type of file they are all opening too slow to be acceptable.

The problem I've encountered involves a significant delay when using keyboard arrow keys for scrolling within the Dropbox folder. Additionally, the search function within Dropbox is also affected by this sluggish behaviour.

A growing frustration is that any updates made will either not take effect at all, take several seconds to reflect in the Connected Boards widget, or just never show up in the widget and we have to refresh to see the changes. Given the slow loading times, this only exacerbates the issue.

Does anybody have any tips on how we can speed up our Monday? If we were to fracture our contact board into several smaller boards, is there a way to quickly maintain all the two-way connections we have between our contact board and all our separate deals boards?

Thanks for pinpointing this issue! In fact, one of the effective ways to speed up board creation and simplify contact management is through CRM automation. This can be done in your CRM software by creating multiple workflows that are equipped with AI (Artificial Intelligence). Ultimately, the goal of CRM automation is to improve loading times and make workflows smoother. With CRM automation, you can connect multiple boards, so that data gets updated synchronously. This way, you can quickly maintain all the bi-directional connections.

Here in 2024, we are still experiencing this issue. Pages take awhile to load, text is deleted as it is typed because it is not registering the key taps, pages stutter and glitch and columns cannot be edited until a full page reload is performed.

I have also noticed that if I try to do batch actions on Connect Boards columns on boards, that it can take 10+ seconds to update (sometimes resulting in a crash, again, requiring restarting the browser).

Been trying to deal with this for months, the more we use Monday that slower is gets, we even upgraded to enterprise but no difference has been seen, screens load slow, changes sometimes get lost while things are buffering, this is across different platforms and team members across the US.

Overall, because each single thing we try to do takes to long to load, doing the most basic of tasks (Eg: adding a new item in, linking it to the main board) and then the subsequent waits in refreshes takes anywhere from 2-3 minutes up to 10 minutes.

Could you please take a short screen recording and send this to our support team? You can reach them via sup...@monday.com.
This does sound like it may be a bug within your account, so this would best be handled on a 1:1 basis with our support team as we may need to ask for personal details, permission to log into your account etc.

We too are experiencing speed issues. We are thinking about moving items from our main boards into several boards so that the main board is not trying to run a bunch of automations all at the same time. Do you think this would help at all?

These issues REALLY slow down our workflow, which is crappy for a system that is supposed to automate workflows and make things more efficient. Monday.com support is a useless time suck with repeated stock email asking for a loom video with info already provided (same experience as JakeT)

I love the features offered by Monday.com. They are perfect for managing my business processes. Dashboards are an excellent tool for tracking metrics and reporting to clients. Unfortunately the reliability, latency issues and automation quirks make me wonder whether I made the right choice.

Hi everyone. I just upgraded my trial account for monday.com and have configured small automations. My experience is very similar to what is outlined in previous comments. Before our company goes any further with monday.com, we are wondering what your experience has been with monday.com customer service and their success in providing solutions for this issue?

Sounds like multiple other people are having this same issue. We are now too. Has this been addressed yet? We are no where near 1000 items on our boards and still seeing quite a lag. i am currently rolling this out to other employees and the lag time is making it difficult to train and making me question the feasibility of using monday.

You can't really compare the upload speed on the website to the speed of the Dropbox app. There's a lot more going on during a sync than a simple upload. Each file you sync is hashed, compressed, then transferred, encrypted, and stored on the Dropbox servers. That entire process is included in the aggregate KB/s speed that's displayed in the Dropbox sync status. In other words, the speed reported by Dropbox is not just a transfer speed, but the speed at which the entire process is being completed. With the website, it's just a simple upload and everything else is done behind the scenes after the upload is completed.

My other PC in a different location with the same internet speeds has the dropbox app at that point is uploading 1gb within a minute or two as well. But this PC and app, the internet speed is the same but the upload speed is throttled big time. I'm not sure what to point at because again, the disparity is huge. I work in VFX and I need to upload 10-100 gb/day. 1 gb taking 1 hour to upload is just not feasible.

So why is my downloads speed 26,000 kb/s and upload speed crawling at 160 kb/s in the app? That's my big question. I can see what you wrote making sense, but it doesn't account for the same file tested at a different location/PC with the exact same speeds on internet speed tests, but uploading much faster?

If the app is uploading slowly to the Dropbox servers, then something could be throttling that connection. Are you certain that you have no other software that could be monitoring the Dropbox folder or app?

My daily use of my base involves a lot of calculations. Lately, AT is slow to the point of being unusable while doing these calculations. The base just hangs at "saving" until I manually refresh. I've split the base into four so that the base I'm now working in has a quarter of the records I used to work with, but this has not improved performance. Is there anything else I can try?

This summer I had the unexpected opportunity to take an eight-hour drive across the beautiful country of Norway. I say this was unexpected because, until the morning of my departure, I thought I was going to enjoy a nice relaxing train ride through some epic scenery, all while propping my feet up to read, write, and play with my kids. But alas, that vision was not to be.

According to Daniel Kahneman, author of Thinking, Fast and Slow, there are two systems that drive how we think (and consequently the results we achieve): System 1 for fast, intuitive emotional responses (gut-based decision-making) and System 2 for slower, more deliberative, and more logical thinking (strategic decision-making). With increased pressures on time, attention, and workloads, the temptation is to default to System 1 thinking, cranking through tasks at light speed, often at the expense of quality, accuracy, other people, and even our own happiness.

Guys, We have recently purchased 3 copies of this to work from home and it is runing really slow. Simple tasks like moving a finder/exporer window stutters and there is a delay on absolutely everything. Any ideas? This is happening on MAC to MAC and PC to MAC.

Hi @User20 Welcome to the GoTo Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing slow connections with GoToMyPC. I recommend trying the GoTo Connection Wizard on your host computer to detect the best connection settings for your network.
