Sad news. Prayers for Margaret and for Bill Obituary of Margaret A. Hanlon

East Greenbush- Margaret A. Hanlon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born on June 11, 1941, in Kentucky, to the late Allen and Margaret (Conway) Walker. Margaret was the loving wife of William T. Hanlon and enjoyed 53 years of marriage to him. Margaret and Bill spent most of their lives living in Castleton and East Greenbush. Margaret was a substitute teacher in the Schodack Central School District, as well as teaching at the Red Cloud Indian School in South Dakota. She was also an administrative assistant at St. Casimir’s, in Albany. Margaret enjoyed volunteering at the Farano Center. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents and her son, Michael Hanlon. She is survived by her husband and her children, Daniel (Paula) Hanlon, Timothy (Elizabeth) Hanlon, and Teresa (Paul) Hebert. She is survived by her siblings, Thomas (Gerry) Walker and Mary (James) Scott. She was the loving grandmother of Owen, Julia, Luke, Grace, Emma, Lyla, and Michael. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Margaret’s family on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Castleton Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave. Castleton-on-Hudson, NY 12033. The Funeral Mass for Margaret will take place on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Sacred Heart Church in Castleton, 3 Catholic Way Castleton-on-Hudson, NY 12033, with the Rite of Committal to follow in the New Sacred Heart Cemetery, S. Old Post Rd. Castleton-on-Hudson, NY 12033.

I got a phone message from Bill Hanlon earlier today: his wife Margaret died this morning; she had been in the hospital for 18 days.
