 We've reached the age where, when we get a call from a contemporary's relative, we anticipate sad news. Gael Newman called me a week ago to say that Jack had died that morning. I remember you two sharing that apartment in the village. 

He'd been having serious memory issues for a good number of years and lived first in Florida, then in Las Vegas, in assisted living facilities that have a focus on memory. Jack and I had stayed close, though living far apart.

I have told John Lively who was his Regis classmate as well as with me at Bellarmine and through philosophy.. It wqould be good if you could tell the St. Andrew's folk.
