Hello,

I am seeing this ("The compiler is unavailable. Please try again later") when I try to run a program from the website right now. Wondering whether this problem is already known.

I think it worked yesterday or at least the day before, as I was testing something for my course. (For which CodeWorld is very useful again, as every year. Thanks!)

Best,
Janis

Yep, worked up until at least yesterday 11pm GMT.

Interestingly, some programs still do seem to compile, though I can't figure out a criterium that differentiates between those that do/don't.

Bummer, was excited to complete Tasks 06-09 early for once ;)

Thanks for the reports.  I'm looking into this now.

It looks like the GHC package database has become corrupted.  Rerunning programs that were already successfully built can sometimes work, but it doesn't look like any new programs are going to build until this is fixed.  I kicked off a rebuild, but it can take a fair amount of time.  Maybe 30 minutes to an hour.

I will update here when the issue is resolved.

This should be fixed now.  Sorry for the interruption.

More details now that I'm not scrambling for a fix.  This problem started when I deployed the fix for https://github.com/google/codeworld/issues/1347 into production.  It looks like the server was rebooted in the middle of that build, leaving GHC's package database in a broken state.  I should have been more diligent in testing that the new build was working before I went to sleep.  Sorry about that.

Thanks a lot for the quick fixing!
