Hi, I found this site last night and it's the best code learning website I've found for my purposes. I often wondered why other websites didn't have more interactive coding and I've learned a lot since I've started.

I was wondering if you're ever going to allow support for other languages? Python would be my next choice, but I'd be great if as you guys grew you could just support pretty much anything.

We are definitely going to support more languages. Python, C# & Java are some of the ones we want to focus on first. We are also starting an open source initiative to allow other developers to add language support. Eventually we hope to support well over 20+ languages.

Great to hear it! Love getting feedback like this.

Python is actually in the works as we speak, hopefully we'll have it up and running soon! If there's any languages you would like to help us build out support for just let us know - we're always looking for OSS collaborators.

Great news! That really seems the next logical step to make it extendable like that - I think that's the direction Duolingo is going in for their human language learning website. Would be cool to offer beta testing of new languages to users for extra kata to get things moving.

Also you guys really need to put out the word more! I found the link by mistake, had been putting around on Codeschool, etc. for a long time and getting burnt out on the relative non-interactivity of the lessons. I had been looking for something like this for a long time and I just wish I had found it sooner!

I also have a friend who is a Python professor. I bet he'd find it useful to have his students sign up and do his exercises as part of the class. That may be another direction to go in, open it up for teachers to offer some extra interactivity to their classes!

Definitely, as we get the new languages in there we'll ease them into the site so that users can flesh out any issues and start building up content in that language.

You can take a look at our OSS initiatives here:

Completely agree - so far, we've been spread just through word-of-mouth, though we're planning on making more a push once we get a breather from working on the product - Any ideas?

Would love to get involved with the professor, lots of opportunity in that direction. Would love to discuss with him if you could make an intro. We should have Python up and running soon!

I just sent him a link, he's a really busy guy but expressed interest when I told him how much the site has helped me :) Hopefully he can get in touch at some point!
