This thread is to discuss programming skill categories, which inform the ranking system and corresponding content categories for kata. 

The intent is to build out a full developer skill profile that organizes skills/concepts/techniques into different levels (beginner, novice, competent, proficient, expert, master), and creates a roadmap for skill progression. 

Here's our initial Kata Ranking Guideline, work in progress so feedback's welcome:

These guidelines would be in addition to other factors, such as average time to complete and average solution length. 

We would also introduce a tagging system that would help match the kata towards concepts like design patterns, meta-programming, AI and language features. 
Eventually the system could automatically determine the ranking based off of a combined score of tags, average time to complete and average solution length
