Hi,

I have a 4 node cluster (debian galera CLI) all working
but  in grastate.dat  (of all the nodes)    the seqno. = -1  which suggests something is wrong

anyway, I am trying to add a new node, but it will not join the existing cluster,  I am pretty sure my conf files are all correct , including the servers,   and also there are no firewall issues
but the new node will not join the cluster,   I tget the following error:  WSREP: Position recovery skipped.
with almost nothing else logged from WSREP%

I've tried shutting down all the nodes, running: galera_new_cluster on one of them, but that does not work.

i've also checked many forums to no avail,  can anyone suggest where i might be going wrong?

Thanks,
Steve.

Hi,

On the running node grastate.dat always has seqno = -1 so that in case of a crash we know that we crashed. So nothing is wrong with respect to it. What you should be looking at is wsrep_cluster_size and wsrep_ready status vars.

Not all critical errors come from WSREP. So all of the log is important. Also make sure that you have INFO level logging enabled.

Regards,
Alex
