Hello students and parents,

          Castlebar Coderdojo is on this Saturday 3-5pm in St. Gerald's College.

We have had a very low number of mentors/volunteers at Castlebar Coderdojo over the last few months and I will not be available for the next two months. I just wanted to hightlight this to parents and students, we will have to suspend Coderdojo for the next two months or get more mentors to help with administration.

Also we are asking as many parents as possible to join us in Child Protection training. The mentors at the dojo must be trained in Child Protection but it would be great to have as many parents as possible trained up as well. It will mean a 4 hour training course run on a Saturday some time in March.

We would like to thank the Mayo Science and Technology Festival for sponsoring the public liability for Castlebar Coderdojo, this allows us to keep the club free for students and parents.

Hi declan i have a question. When u talk about mentors/volunteers, are u looking for people with computer knowledge? Or do you also need parents without programming knowledge  to be present at the classes to help supervise? I fall into the latter category but if i am of use to the classes i can be there not every week but on a regular basis.
I wont be there this sat but  going forward i'll be available
