Announcing the Recommended Practice Open Consultation Period for Dojos. View this email in your browser Dear CoderDojo Community,   Over the past year the Foundation has been working on devising a Recommended Practice for Dojos to meet. There were a number of reasons behind this decision,  including, Quality Control, Safeguarding Children, Brand Protection, Increased Process and Guidance for Dojos, To Build on sense of Community between Foundation and Dojos. This project has gone to our board of Directors who have approved it and last month the CoderDojo Community Committee debated it , made amendments and overwhelmingly agreed with the Foundation putting in place a Recommended Practice. Today we are delighted to say that we will be putting the Recommended Practice to the entire global CoderDojo Community for an Open Consultation Period. This period will run from the 11th of June 2014 to the 14th of July 2014 during which time any Dojo can submit feedback, or arrange a call with the team to discuss their thoughts. The Foundation is committed to the CoderDojo community and value their input greatly which is why we have decided to take this necessary step. In brief the Recommended Practice will ask Dojos to confirm that they agree to 5 core Principles: Creating a Safe Space Safeguarding Children Encompassing the CoderDojo Ethos Communication and Review Privacy and Data Protection Read the full Recommended Practice document Next week we will be contacting all listed Dojos to provide them with the full Recommended Practice document and detailing how feedback and suggestions can be given. If you have any questions please contact us at: in...@coderdojo.com From, The CoderDojo Foundation Team Copyright © 2014 The CoderDojo Foundation, All rights reserved.
