Dear CoderDojoDC list,

The challenge below is being run by the US CoderDojo community leads.  I thought there might be some kids from our group who would be interested in entering, but there’s not a lot of time!  Project submissions are due May 15.  If your child would be interested in this, please encourage them to start thinking about a project and we (mentors and other kids) can help them and offer advice at tomorrow’s meeting.

Young coders, get ready to show off your superpowers!    Your club members’ mission: Create a project that tells us all about your superpower! Can you control the weather? Do you have a super strong sense of smell? Use code to show us what you’re super at — whether real or imaginary!   How to get started: There are lots of projects on the Raspberry Pi projects site that you could do with your club members to help them get started. Here are some ideas: HTML/CSS: Build a website to tell a story Python: Write a program with text and images How to enter: Club members can create a project on their own or in a group of up to five people. Whether they are working alone or in a group, they can only submit one project. Only club leaders can submit club members’ projects. All submissions must be received by 11:59pm PDT on May 15, 2019.
