CoderDojo Athenry returns on Saturday 26 March!

Hello everyone

CoderDojo Athenry is returning with our weekly sessions in Clarin College starting Saturday 26 March 2022.

Our sessions will take place between 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

The groups we will run this year are:

·         Explorers with Martha, for young kids (must know how to read) Learn Scratch, program your own interactive stories, games, and animations. Scratch helps kids to learn to think creatively and reason systematically.

 

·         Advancers with Oliver and Eoin, for kids ready to move on from Explorers, features more advanced projects in Scratch and some other technologies.

 

 ·         Bodgers with Declan, for kids who have done Scratch and want to move on to a more advanced coding language. Use Python to create your own animations and games similar to those being created in both Scratch groups.

 

·         Modellers with Kieran, will be using the free 3D modelling software Blender (https://www.blender.org/) to create and build 3D models. Looking at modelling, texturing, rendering and maybe even video creation. We will be starting again from the basics, so beginners are welcome.

 

 ·         Hackers with Michael and Kevin, for teenagers in secondary school who have plenty of past technical experience in CoderDojo. They use teamwork and collaboration to come up with ideas for challenging projects, and they tackle the projects using skills they have developed in other CoderDojo groups and new skills they acquire during the year.

We won’t have an information session this year, but we will have plenty of time set aside before the first sessions start, for everyone to decide which group they would like to try and as always Ninjas can move between groups anytime during the year.
