Wanted to spread the word to any California, USA based dojos for San Francisco Events. See contact info at the end of message:

IBM is hosting a Watson JAM Session for STEM Students on Saturday October 1st at the Innovation Hangar in San Francisco. We would be pleased to welcome 5-10 of your students (ages Middle School to High School) to join us for this fun and exciting event.

The event will be an opportunity to learn about the new era of Cognitive Computing and IBM Watson. They will actually get to use Watson in a hands on workshop, ideate as a group about how Watson can change the world. To continue their hands on learning, we will get them started in a Bot Competition focused on solving a social problem that will include awesome prizes to be awarded at the Watson Developer Conference for Students in the STEM Program Category. We will serve pizza and snacks for lunch. Participation in the Watson JAM Session will also come with a follow on invitation to come back to the Innovation Hanger as our IBM guests at no-charge on November 9th and 10th for the Watson Developer Conference and to participate in the event with developers from all over the world come together to learn even more about Watson and putting Watson to work in the world. Check out the website here for more details: http://www.ibm.com/watson/developer-conference/ . The students will be learning what IBM Watson actually is and sow they can use Watson to create solutions that will solve huge social problems? We will have an ideation session where we brainstorm how Watson can change the world, and they will even get hands on access to work with Watson. Date: Saturday, October 1st Time: 9AM - 2PM pacific Location: Innovation Hanger 3601 Lyon Street, San Francisco, CA, 94123 http://www.ihangar.org/ Things to bring: Laptops that are able to access the internet. If there are a few students who may not have access to a laptop, we can team them up to share with another student who does. Things to let us know about: If there are any attendees with food allergies or special diets that we need to be aware of. We would like to leverage your organizations existing parental approval process to ensure it is ok for the students to join us and we would also welcome at least 1 person or more from your organization to join us as well for both the Watson JAM Session as well as the Watson Developer Conference. We will just need to ensure we have the students and organization attendees names and email addresses if possible. We will then work through you to ensure that we can get the necessary information out to the students and to get them registered for the Watson Developer Conference in November as well. We will send a confirmation email with additional details once we have a headcount and names of attendees from your organization. Dennis Bly is the overall IBM coordinator for this event. His contact info is as follows: email: db...@us.ibm.com mobile: 914 671 1349
