All, just a summary of what we said at end of session 3:

  • We've had 3 sessions of HTML, the aim being to get everyone up to having a working, well-styled multipage site and getting this live on the web. Maybe not everyone is there, with a working site, but that's OK. Head over to http://www.coderdojodunlaoghaire.com/?p=80 to download all the "session 2" stuff and you'll get source code (HTML+CSS) for the final site - feel free to grab it and make it your own.
  • We're just organising how to do that "getting live on the web" part and will be telling all on this group how to do it as soon as we've got a good setup.
  • No session next Wednesday, 13th Feb. Midterm break but also nice to have a break because...
  • When we come back on 20th, we'll be doing first of 3 sessions with Scratch. Very different to HTML in what it looks like, how we work with it and what it does but it is a first step into a big area of computer programming and opens up even more possibilities than web design does. Seriously, this is fun stuff!

Hope you're all enjoying Coder Dojo and starting to get ideas of what you could do, now you see how things are done. If you gave any ideas on how to run things better, let us know - it's your club, not ours.

See you next time
