Greetings from the CoderDojo Foundation!

This is a mail to let the CoderDojo community know about some upcoming announcements and opportunities.

Attend Web Summit for Schools 2015!

This year, CoderDojo will be back at the Web Summit in the RDS from 3rd-5th November 2015. As a part of this we have a limited number of tickets available for CoderDojo Ninjas, Mentors and Champions that want to attend the very special Web Summit for Schools event. The Web Summit for Schools event will take place on the evening of Tuesday the 3rd November from 7:30pm – 9pm in the RDS, Dublin.

The Web Summit for Schools event will consist of talks from some of the biggest names in tech and will give students an opportunity to experience this special event especially for students with the aim to inspire young people to become more involved in technology.

Take the Erasmus+ Toolkit Survey!

As part of the CoderDojo Erasmus+ project, The Nerve Centre in Derry/Londonderry is creating an International Toolkit to help support the growth of the movement around the European Union and beyond!

The CoderDojo International Toolkit will be a detailed set of recommendations, methodologies and guidelines covering all aspects of establishing and operating a CoderDojo Chapter.

The Nerve Centre has developed a series of questionnaires in order to identify the needs of an International Toolkit. These questionnaires are aimed at existing and potential community members. The responses received, will shape and inform the toolkit contents so that those who use it will benefit from the guidance and advice on offer.

We are trying to get information from all of the different community members (Champions, Mentors, Ninjas, Parents) so please share this survey with the members of your Dojo!

Get Involved in Google's Call to Code!

After the huge success of Call to Code in 2014, Google is once again in search of Ireland’s young coders and computer scientists of tomorrow.

How the competition works:
Call to Code is open to all eligible junior and senior post primary students, aged 13 to 18, in the Republic of Ireland. We are inviting Champions to register their Dojo and interested Ninjas to take part. On 25th November 2015, Ninjas will be invited to put their coding skills to the test in the online competition. Then 20 finalists from each cycle will go on to take part in a nail-biting code-off on 9th December at Google’s Dublin HQ.
There are great prizes to be won for both Ninjas and Champions so spread the word today and get your Dojo registered!

We would love to share news from your Dojo with the community! If you have content you’d like to share send us a mail: in...@coderdojo.org

Happy coding,

The CoderDojo Foundation Team.
