Larger Items:

Target 320 Eu - Raspberry Pi 2 (Model B) kits x 4 (80Eu each) - our model A units are limited and not compatible with the latest components
Target 160Eu - Apple Mac Book pro MagSafe 85W (T end) x4 (40Eu each for new OEM units (Lynn checking if we she can source them)

Smaller items Target - 100 Eu

Serial UART connectors for Raspberry Pi
8 gang power adapters X4 (15Eu each)
Misc Cables
Model Car Kit
Stepper Motor

So a reasonable Target would be approx 650 Eu.

Our kitty stands at 95Eu plus an additional 50Eu added through Sales of tea/coffee so we are well on the way to our target!

Thanks to all that are kindly donating.

Well done Francis, you've put a load of work in there, and it's great to see the enthusiasm from other mentors!

Just wondering in relation to storing all this stuff, how are we going to manage this, particularly if items are used in both Wednesday and Sunday sessions - we'll need to figure a way to have things passed to one place and back.

The other thing is re the €95 you're saying is already in the kitty - don't forget about the money the CDF are minding for us!  Keeping an eye out for the 2015 DLRCoCo Awards, maybe we might stand a chance of winning a few bob more ;)

Thanks a million Anthea, and yes a hand would be great if we're going for one.  I'm waiting for a call from CoderDojo Foundation regarding the next DojoCon.  We got a grant from the Council last year with a view to hosting it in Dun Laoghaire.  We got very last minute notice about the proposal period to pitch to the CoderDojo Foundation and although we got a great application together, we were unfortunately pipped by Derry.

I had discussions earlier in the year about how the proposals should be handled; however there hasn't been any news since, so I'm a little reluctant to put time into the grant application until I know what's happening.  The CoderDojo Foundation are aware I need to know soon as any application to the Council needs to be in by early November.

The application I definitely DO want to make is for the Community Awards, which is a separate thing.  I put in an application in 2013, and with the help of Francis and a "borrowed" ninja, we won 1st place in the Children & Young Adults category.  Last year I never saw anything about it so didn't get an application in, but am hoping to get one in this year - have emailed the Council about it.

Thanks,
Sandra

I competed with yous in the community awards two years ago we were beside you in the community centre in mounttown and we were the overall winners that year. I'm more than happy to give a hand with any grant applications that can help with the work yous do.

Dublin bus community spirit awards are a good one you could nab 1000, 2000 or 5000. Give me a shout when you're planning something. I'll keep an eye on fundingpoint too
