Thanks all for the swift replies.
I've gone ahead and set up the event on Zen and registration on
Eventbrite. Going to
http://denhaag.coderdojo.nl/ should bring you to
our Zen page with all the details. If not, do let me know as this is
the URL we'll be handing out on promotional stuff. The tickets are
meant for kids; mentors don't need to sign up as long as we know who
we're expecting, so let us know via the list if you haven't already.
One thing I've done is limit the number of tickets available. At the
moment this is rather conservatively set at 20 places (i.e. 20 kids +
20 parents = 40 people). I think we can easily handle this many with
the mentors we have already and we can always increase the limit as
necessary. The hard limit will of course be the practical capacity of
RevSpace - any idea what that would be?
Next thing to think about is what kind of tutorials we're going to
offer. I think at least for the first session we need to keep it
simple, for example two "tracks", maybe HTML and Scratch, with
exercises for before and after lunch. Coders can then choose to do two
tutorials in one track (one more advanced than the other) or switch
after lunch and do one of each track.
The flyers should be ready Real Soon Now(tm). Our PR person has been
tinkering with them but I'm promised they'll be a bit special and
worth waiting for...
Cheers,
Steve
