CoderDojo Bray mailing list admin: need to move to a new system

Dear Supporters of CoderDojo Bray

our general mailing list has grown to the size where we can no longer continue to use gmail to send email announcements like this one: gmail allows only 500 unique recipients, and our list is larger that that now.

We are migrating to using a different system, MailChimp, to send email announcements to the large general email list.

This is still and will remain our contact address.

Using MailChimp has several advantages: 

- it supports >500 recipients

- it allows you to unsubscribe from the list automatically. Up until now, unsubscribing is a manual process and we can sometimes overlook a request if they end up in our spam folder.

- it will allow us to post a subscribe form online, so that new people can subscribe themselves to the list

- it allows you to update your own details (Name, or email) yourself, without having to email this address 

Shortly after this email you will receive your first email from our MailChimp system: we have imported all the emails on this list into MailChimp.

The contacts import into MailChimp was mostly automated, so it is possible that we might have your first/last names reversed (or wrong!) so the email will contain a link where you can correct this. It is also possible that we might have a child's name associated with a parent's email address, or vice versa.

It will also contain a link where you can unsubscribe from the mailing list.

When you receive your MailChimp mail, please take the time to check your name and details and correct these, if they are wrong. Also we'd appreciate it if any of your dojo kids are inadvertently on our email list, if you could check with them and take the time to remove them from our mailing list.
