Shame on Yoo Report; Cheney Slogan Contest Deadline 7/26!

Hi all.
Nancy Mancias took some great photos today at John Yoo's house--
thanks Nancy! Holly, can you post the slideshow or pick a couple of
the photos for our website?

We had a lovely action with six activists coming up to enjoy the
perfect weather and pass out flyers, get signatures on postcards to
Atty. General Holder, hold signs, chat with passersby, drink homemade
strawberry lemonade with limoncello, and one of Yoo's neighbors even
entered the Cheney slogan contest. A reporter from KPFA stopped by for
a quick interview.

NEXT SUNDAY, July 26, will be an especially important action. Medea
will be in town and is invited, so let's turn out in bigger numbers,
ok? We'll have a media alert going out, new posters, superior chalk,
light refreshments, and several sets of handcuffs in the event that we
spot Yoo. AND, we'll be announcing the winner of the Cheney slogan
contest around 6 PM, with a homemade peach pie awarded to the winner.

Slogan entries so far are at the end of this email. Can you think of
something about Cheney that would look great on a bumper sticker or t-
shirt and would inspire people to take action to hold Cheney
accountable for war, fear, hatred, and torture? I'm going to ask
George Lakoff (author of Don't Think of an Elephant) to judge the
contest.

Now I don't mean to scare anyone, but the comments I've been reading
on Michelle Malkin's website are pretty ugly. We haven't had any
incidents, but isn't it typical for these knee-jerk neocons to talk
about US instead of the torture professor? They're not at all
interested in his torture memos-- just with the protestors supposedly
disturbing his privacy. Here are a couple of examples:

This person "Zombie" gets it wrong-- we weren't forced off the
property. But he/she is right that Yoo posted a "No Tresspassing" sign
after our first protest.
