TUESDAY, JULY 14, NOON: PROTEST 'TORTURE JUDGE" BYBEE, 9TH CIRCUIT
COURT, 7TH & MISSION, SAN FRANCISCO.
Join World Can't Wait, Progressive Democrats of America, CODEPINK,
National Accountability Network, MoveOn, and others to protest
"Torture Judge" Jay Bybee, who is unfit to sit in judgment of anyone
since he gave legal approval to torture, yet has a lifetime
appointment to the Ninth Circuit. Meet in front of the court at 7th &
Mission, SF.
We have banners and signs, bumper stickers and buttons.
SUNDAY, JULY 19 AND 26, 4-6 PM: ARREST JOHN YOO! SHAME ON YOO WEEKLY
PROTEST
CODEPINK Golden Gate and a coalition of groups are calling for
"torture professor" John Yoo to be dismissed from his teaching post at
U.C. Berkeley Law School, disbarred in Pennsylvania, and prosecuted
for war crimes of complicity in torture and illegal wiretapping.
Federal Judge Jeffrey White ruled on June 12 that Jose Padilla can
actually sue YOO for torture he suffered. The Spanish courts are going
forward with prosecuting Yoo. Why is he still teaching at UC? Why
hasn't he been arrested and prosecuted?
July 26 protest features Cheney slogan contest. Come up with a short,
catchy, but not humorous slogan that will lead to Cheney's arrest.
Winner gets a homemade peach pie! Details:

FRIDAY, JULY 31, 5:30 PM: GOLDEN GATE CHAPTER MEETING
CODEPINK Golden Gate Chapter will meet at the San Francisco Mime
Troupe performance of "Too Big To Fail" on Friday, July 31, at
Berkeley's Willard/Ho Chi Minh Park.
Pink Potluck Picnic and first half of meeting, followed by Mime
Troupe, followed by second half of meeting.
We'll hand out flyers about our "Arrest the War Criminals" campaign,
sign people up, sing Betsy's "Bye Bye Bybee" song, sell bumper
stickers and buttons, and have a good time.
