my website for example is www.iclips.co.za and my app is IClips, notice that the IC is upper case in the app name. so what must the packag name be? co.za.iclips.iclips?

By convention package names are lowercase but the main app is case correct. This is strictly a convention though, people do whatever they want.

you said in the developer guid that ios and android use this package name to pdate the app. does that mean if a newer version is available it would fail if the packae name is incorrect?
and what is the domain extension to do with the dowloading, I mean when you download something the .com or .org hav e nothing to do with where the files go, right(or wrong)?

You install all apps in these platforms from the store so there is no relation to your domain other than you claiming to own it.
See the link to any android app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codenameone.apps.maker
See the id argument... Package name.
