How to handle Windows Phone Push notifications

Hey guys,

I have a question, since WP push notifications are not yet supported by the Codename One API, how do we have manage this notifications for this platform? Do we have to make different kinds of calls for this platform? We are on the process of aqcuiring a Pro license and will like to manage the rest of the platforms' Push notifications with CN1 APIs but are still doubtful about WP which is a very important platform for the app we are releasing.  Thanks.

I honestly have no idea. Everything is different about Windows Phone. You might be able to do something with native code but I have no idea since we didn't even start looking into that.

Hey Shai, 

if I want to make an app which includes push notifications through Codename One's APIs, but also want to deploy it on Windows Phone, even if it doesn't use Push notifications, would I need to make a separate project without the PushCallback and the rest of the Push API stuff?  or will the push stuff just be ignored when the app gets built?

There is no need. It just won't be invoked for that platform.

Hi, have you come over this? Is push working on WP already? Unless its not is PubNubs push gateway an eventual alternative? I mean is it fully functional including push notifications for not running apps?
