This generally means the project wasn't detected as a Codename One project. Did you copy over all the jar files and project files?
codenameone_settings.properties?
CodeNameOneBuildClient.jar etc.?

My old project that was messed up so I created a new project and then added all files from the old folders.
After fixing some quirkness,
the current one is that
the CodenameOne button is greyed out. I installed last version plugin into the IDE.
Compiing seems to be successful apart of some CodenameOne stuff.
What do I have to check? JDK? libs? modules? I already checked some of those things.
Thanks in advance

The project was created as a CodenameOne project and just the sources were copied into it. Those files you say are in the project.
But for one class file the generated code warning (at the end of the file) was not created, this means CodenameOne plugin was already off at that time. I put a method that the class needed copying it from a similar class (initGuiBuilderComponents).
I performed all possible reset procedures, JDK change, close/restart, plugin uninstall/reinstall/disable/enable. Originally I downloaded the plugin and set to its path, but then it did not work as expected so I install from the IDE plugin store. No issue about the installation.

What generated code warning?
Can you add some screenshots, I think I might be missing something here?
