Windows MSI run desktop app as background process

My windows desktop (msi) builds installed and ran as expected until I upgraded from intellij 13 to intellij 15 with the corresponding upgrade codenameone plugin upgrade to version 3.4.2.

I have rebuilt three times (twice today) and all are running as background processes when installing the msi file on a windows 8 laptop. The app works perfectly in the simulator and when built as an apk.
