After discussing this with some community members on the advocacy group we decided that it would be better to move the core weight of our support effort to stack overflow.
You can check our existing answers here, and file your own question when you can't find the answer.

StackOverflow is moderated effectively making you "clean up" your questions and organize them in such a way that other community members can find them more easily in the future.

We understand that this option isn't perfect and not everyone can make the transition so we are keeping the group and will still answer questions here. However, please make the effort of asking on StackOverflow.

Thanks!

Hi All,

The shift to StackOverflow gives some more flexibility with tags amongst others. So, from now on, anyone that has a question related to parse4cn1 should kindly ask it via StackOverflow and include the tag 'parse4cn1'. That will make it easier for me to track the questions and answer them. For questions related to Parse itself, use existing StackOverflow tag 'parse.com'.

Thanks

Hmmmm, I just realized that creating a new tag (parse4cn1) requires a 1500 reputation points on StackOverflow... Is there someone who has sufficient points and can create the SO tag 'parsa4cn1' for me? That would be appreciated!

Sure. Just write the question/answer text and I'll do that for you.
You can do it in stack overflow and send it to me.

I don't think stackoverflow is a good platform for codename1 - too much noise.

Its actually far more organized and way better. We should have done it ages ago!
It forces questions to be "clear" which isn't the case here, that makes my job MUCH easier. It helps our SEO efforts and is far easier to search.
It won't be spring cleaned anytime soon.

With stackoverflow you cant really converse properly like a forum, lots of people being over pure and removing things saying that isnt a question etc. I think its great for well organised questions, but this forum we tend to "talk" to each other which wouldnt be allowed on SO I dont think. Plus its complex and you need reputation to do anything, I have rep now but it took time I think.

We kept the forum for that reason.

Notice that I try to upvote everyone who posts a Codename One question and also edit a lot of the questions to improve their quality.

Stack overflow is REALLY REALLY helpful to our SEO efforts so we very much appreciate the effort put by developers both in answering and asking there. Obviously things like bug reports or discussions don't belong there which is why we have this forum (still active) and the issue tracker.

FYI a couple of StackOverflow related announcements.

We now have a new ParparVM tag for you guys to follow:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/parparvm

We finally got the Codename One tag marked as Java so tagging as "java" is now redundant.

For those who didn't follow, before this change if you posted source in stack overflow and tagged it as codenameone syntax highlighting was missing. So you had to add the java tag to every post just to get syntax highlighting. This is no longer necessary.
