MQTT, push notification

Hello guys, what do you think of the use of the MQTT protocol to get push notification, without go through on Google,Apple,.. servers?

Does anyone have experience?

Any suggest is welcome

Hi,
I'm not sure if that specific protocol would work for this case. However, we already have a push alternative in pubnub: http://www.codenameone.com/blog/fast-push-communication-using-pubnub
Which you can implement yourself over http/https without requiring a custom protocol.
The reason you need push is that push works even when your app isn't running and that's something you just can't achieve on iOS without push.
