I am using IntelliJ for Windows 8 and about 3 dyas ago I began receiving the error chain:

build-for-android-device
codeNameOne
java.net.UnknownHostException: codename-one.appspot.com
at java.net.AbstractPlainSocketImpl.connect(AbstractPlainSocketImpl.java:184)
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connect(PlainSocketImpl.java:172)
at java.net.SocksSocketImpl.connect(SocksSocketImpl.java:392)
at java.net.Socket.connect(Socket.java:589)
at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.connect(SSLSocketImpl.java:668)
at sun.security.ssl.BaseSSLSocketImpl.connect(BaseSSLSocketImpl.java:173)
at sun.net.NetworkClient.doConnect(NetworkClient.java:180)
at sun.net.www.http.HttpClient.openServer(HttpClient.java:432)

The error report message:
Ant build completed with 3 errors 3 warnings in 7m 49s at 6/15/16 12:46 PM
C:\barry\development\evansebr3\build.xml:334: Error in server build process

I have tried multiple internet connections over multiple days with consistent results. I successfully built the same revision of the code on June 7th. Any idea why this would be happening?

Are you behind a proxy?
try configuring the proxy with our new settings: https://www.codenameone.com/blog/unskin-proxy-support.html

Thanks for the pointer... Specifically, no I was not behind a firewall on any of the connections which I tried, but your "new settings" statement led me to update my IntelliJ and CodeNameOne plugin. Now builds are working again!
