storage and conditional redirection

hi guys. i am workin on a chat app and want to detect if user is logged in or not. if user is logged in the want to redirect to a form else want to redirect to login page.. hw do i go about this? all post re accepted cos am learning

i need a way to do this locally.. maybe a boolean or xml value to indicate if true or false  so i can check if user is logged in or not...  den if value i search for is false or doesnt exist den i know i would ve  redirect to login page or load for internet.cos considering its a mobile platform we are coding for . internet might be slow so i need a way to do this faster on device. hope u understand ?
