I have been contacted by a blind user that uses our desktop app with a screen reader. She would like to use our mobile app but it does not work with the built in screen readers. I saw an old message on this from 2013. Has any progress been made on this?

There is an issue slated for 3.8 on this in the issue tracker. It might get bumped as it's pretty big but it's a pretty important feature so I hope it won't. 
This should be relatively easy to implement in a basic way but the nuances are sometimes difficult.
