Notifications don't do anything in the simulator, it's a feature of the mobile operating system you will only see on the device.

look at the photo in the tutorial .. I'm talking about this display

when i test the code it doesn't display anything

That's the iOS native simulator. It supports that since it simulates the native OS which our simulator can't. You can only run this on a device.
