Dear CodeMeta PMC,

Following recent coordination discussions around the v4.0 milestone, I would like to raise a convergence and release-management point for collective visibility.

After reviewing the current v4 milestone:
https://github.com/codemeta/codemeta/milestone/11

The heavy lifting is being done by the CodeMeta Mappings task force, which is led by Daniel Garijo (THANKS!!). There is a fork in progress on:

https://github.com/SciCodes/codemeta/tree/target_codemeta_v4

On the Software Heritage side, Linda Angulo Lopez (CCed) is currently coordinating much of the operational follow-up, and Melissa Drapper will be continuing the improvements of the website after the release of V4.0.

👉@PMC: If possible, please provide comments directly on the related GitHub issues/PRs over the coming days so we can progressively clarify:

  • release boundaries,
  • remaining blockers,
  • and freeze expectations.
The objective is to help the current implementation effort converge toward a stable and bounded v4.0 release. I'd like to suggest May 26th as the deadline for PMC feedback. The content of this email will also be sent to the SciCodes consortium, with the same deadline.

Kind regards,
