Dear CodeMeta PMC,

We are in April \o/

On Monday, Vlorentz and myself will review the issues tagged with V2.1 and we will prepare the release for next week.

A reminder:

- V2.1 will be released with new crosswalks without changing the vocabulary (at the end of April)

- v3.0 will be released with the labeled v3.0 issues and PRs following the March 2023 discussion and vote (at the end of May)

We strive to keep v3.0 backward compatible because we get a lot of concerns from the community about this particular aspect (we should review this strategy for v4.0).

We also discussed to review the codemeta website to better automate the presentation of the vocabulary and crosswalks on the website.

I have opened this issue for your comments on this particular activity:

https://github.com/codemeta/codemeta.github.io/issues/42

During May I will invite you to review and comment the Research Software Metadata Guidelines that are produced by the FAIR-IMPACT project.

Thank you for your engagement.

Kind regards,
