Hi,

I tried to join the google group off the site.

http://codemash.org/

http://groups.google.com/group/codemash/subscribe?q=1

Received a 404.

I work with ITS at CWRU and also help out at jumpstart, ybi,
launchhouse, bizdom and more for technology businesses.

Would like to be informed of these events.

Thanks.

Bob

I'm already subscribed to the group but when I got to the second URL, I receive a message from Google that "The old Google Groups will be going away soon."

Perhaps some CodeMash webmaster needs to take a look.

Dunno. "Works on my machine". :-)

Seriously, are you still having problems?

Dianne

Are you sure it was a 404? A 404, as you know, is a response from the web server indicating that it doesn't know what you're talking about. However, if you were experiencing transient network issues, i.e. some issue with wifi, then a browser like Internet Explorer gives extremely unhelpful messages so that you don't know whether it's an actual 404 from the web server or if it's a network issue. Google Chrome will show you the difference.

I'm wondering if 404 has become a metonym and people have forgotten its true meaning.
