I went to CodeMash last year but I can't remember if the waterpark
wristband/tickets are based on being registered for the conference or
for being registered at the hotel. Since rooms are sold out, I
probably won't be getting one via the hotel registration, even though
I will likely be staying at the hotel with someone else.

Does anyone know if we get the waterpark wristbands with our
conference registration?

Thanks!
Bryan

Last year I received mine when I checked into the hotel. If you'll be
staying in someones room just be sure to have them pick up a wrist
band for you when they check in.

Wristbands are tied with hotel check-in. You can have someone purchase extra passes to the water park for you, but I was told by reservations that on weekends like the one after CodeMash it is common for them to be at capacity and not allow extra passes.

We asked this same question during our site visit a few weeks ago (how do people not staying at the Kalahari get into our waterpark party?).

The suggestion by Kalahari staff: CodeMash will be provided a stack of wristbands that we can provide during registration for folks not staying at the Kalahari.

These wristbands will be a different color than if you're staying at the resort, but both colors will get you into the waterpark party on Thursday evening.

What time does the water park close?  Will bands be available for Wednesday through Friday only?

Hopefully the party can go later than the usual closing time of the park, too.

Hi all,

As Jason said, the Kalahari will provide Codemash attendees staying OFFSITE wristbands for the party on Thursday night. The party is held AFTER the waterpark is closed to the public and is exclusive for CM attendees and guests.

The waterpark is open every day/evening during the conference and those staying AT the resort get waterpark wrist bands along with their room reservations.

If I recall, the waterpark party actually starts after the waterpark closes to the public.

Just an FYI for those who have not been to the waterpark party at
night before: Only a portion of the attractions are open. Last year
just the flow rider and the wave pool were open. If you want to ride
the tube slides, the zip slide, the raft slide, lazy river etc. you
will need to do that during normal park operating hours.

During the Codemash waterpark party last year?  I did multiple tube rides so I am not sure what was closed, there seemed to be a lot of rides open.

Actually, that's not correct.

All the slides back and to the left were open. The Cheetah Mat Racer,
Tanzanian Twister, Swahili Swirl, and Rippling Rhino are all in that back
corner and open during the party.

It's the large slides off to the right of the flow riders which were
closed--and yes, the lazy river isn't open, either.

I have a scar above my eye that is proof that the slides were open. :)

Loved riding the slides Jim mentioned during the after-hours party! It was GREAT not to have to stand in the long lines that formed over the weekend. As it was, I got all of my riding in on Thursday night, and then the weekend was dedicated to what the kids wanted to do.

Just to be clear..  To get into the after-hour party in the water park, you must be staying at the hotel and have a waterpark wristband.  Local people that are not staying at the hotel will not be able to go unless they get a room...
Is this correct?

No, that's not correct!

CodeMash attendees, regardless of where they're staying, will be able
to get special wristbands for the party.

Nobody gets left behind! :)
