Though not as new to codeigniter, I have a problem, hope you can help
me out.
A system with a front-end and an admin section, they share the same
database, however, would like to know how do i set it up in a manner
that when i type http://mydomain/ it takes me to the front end while i
type http://mydomain/admin it takes me to the admin section.
One thing you should note is that both front end and admin have logins
and as such in the event i login to the front end i must not access
the admin section despite knowing the url structure.
Thank you in advance.
Regards
Nd'wex
Having dug in for the last 2days finally got a solution, there were
others depending on how much you could handle in terms of debugging
plus the hustle of upgrades thereafter.
The link: http://philsturgeon.co.uk/blog/2009/07/Create-an-Admin-panel-with-CodeIgniter
[no .htaccess needed]
The problem with the cabotsolutions version was the .htaccess plus not
very conclusive as to whether to drop the main index.php
askaboutphp requires adjustment to apache files which might not be
allowed by most hosting scenarios.
Another option is to over ride [MY_Router.php] the router.php
_validate_request function .... this is going to be a long night plus
plenty of whatever keeps your eyes open and brain running.
