I do this not only on my behalf that's why I might feel like kind a too much for some of mates.

I am the only international student on this competition as per my concern.

I feel like what will happen to my country man if I don't complaint this time.

Everything you guys mentioned on your reply emails to my complaint I have definitely done it before running to the legal procedures.

I would like to encourage those who have the feeling I have to pronounce themselves and fight for their rights as well.

More great coders from Mozambique are coming up and I don't want them to face such kind of arrogance I WANT THEM TO CODE FOR FREE :)

Cheers.

hey there ,

Saying that you r the only student is just NOT true , im also international student from Palestine , and my team and i Won the Third Prize for our project ( E-ticketing )
along with tht anther student from Afghanistan who didnt win but he attended tht event and also received his  participates certificate ....

dont think its something against you .. just ask them first b4 doing all wht u wanna do , bcz by ur way , u might let them add one rule next year ,you can say sumething like.... foriengers not allowed (non-indians) :) . which is not fair and i dont think your gr8 coders from Mozambique  will thank u for being the reason for them not to join such a Contest.

thats all for now i guess.

Common Whatever, as my mate please go to my project's documents & files and check as well my repository https://i9nove.dev.java.net/...

My project is of more than 5 MB of raw code and it's a giant as compared to yours. I've just checked your repository now.

I don't compare quantity to quality but I'm just riding a bigger horse now.

I'm happy to know that CFF is even more multi-national.

Regards.

Hello dear,
i think you don't have much information about the contest and its participants, there were lots of foreigner students participating in this contest, I am from Afghanistan, and i was one of the participants and i know some other foreigners who participated in this contest as miss Dina said please don't turn a personal matter into a general issue. On the prize distribution day there were lots of certificates that their owners wasn't present its possible that yours was there too. Maybe you should try to check it out properly with sun people.

Thanks dear, I appreciate your attention and I like the suggestion to check it out properly with Sun people - that's what I'm going to do as well.

I'll disclosure few more information that most people don't know. I tried to write directly to both instructors and both of them asked me not to write directly to the instructors as there is a mail list meant for that, so any doubts (but ANY) regarding the contest should be discussed there - that's how I was instructed, that's how I behaved and as you can realize several times I did not get enough information so I decided to make my voice loud enough.

Regards.
Enjoy your weekend mates.

@ Flavio
First thing i would like to tell u is that you SHOULD NOT measure ur project in terms of mbs of code. Grow up. You say u r good programmers then y r u wasting ur time in writing such mails. Y dont u use it in a creative manner. Though it hardly takes 10 mins to write a mail as u said, dont u think wt u r doin is not right. When der r some rules u have 2 follow them. Tell me wt gud wud da participation certificate do? I agree u wil have a proof of ur work done. But u already have java.net to prove ur work. Instead of just messing up everything y dont u work on improving ur project even more. Instead of retaliating this way y dont try to find out wt actually went wrong. And believe me my friend there r better ways to seek information than wt u r doin. U called the sun people arrogant but in my openion u r being arrogant by using such terms. Try approaching in a little more polite manner.

@Flavio: when the instructors told you to mail to the mailing list, he/she meant codefor...@sun.com . This is the mailing list accessed by all Sun employees who are directly involved in CFF. Please do not mail the Google list for queries regarding certificates. Use this group to discuss technical stuff....

Thanks dear, but I'll repeat it once more, I tried all stunts you have mentioned I was just ignored by people in charge and that's how I call it unnecessary arrogance (it's not good for free competition) they have misbehaved as it's NOW PROVED they have never given me the average treatment - you can now see it on the AMOUNT of misinformation I got directly from my instructors. I JUST DON'T KNOW WHY :)

Regarding the MBs and the creative time, I already told you that my time is divided into several and small pieces for each task. Maybe you'll understand it when you build larger projects.

Politeness is good I like it but don't misunderstand it with incompetence which is bad for organization.

Regards, enjoy your weekend.

Hi ,
See main motto of this contest was to encourage open source  , you can never demand certificate for what you have done ,final decision was left to sun.Tell me what good it is if u get certificate after filing complaint ,would that really respect you.You are a great coder ,you would nt need any piece of paper to prove it .There are better ways to prove your self,Filing complaint all would just be waste of your time ,if you still  think you shld do,  than do it, always follow your heart , Time has answer for everything..

Best Wishes ,
Have a wonderfull life.
Regards
Ravi.

Hi Ravi,
Well CodeForFreedom is all about coding for free :) It is a contest which helps u to explore ur talent, ur creativity. If u have any idea for a project just go ahead and start working. Then u have the java.net, u can upload ur work there and people can check it out and u can also get help as in people interested in ur project would help u develop it. I guess the CodeForFreedom contest is only for the students. They have to register for the contest and then register at the java.net with their project idea. And then work on da project n finish it till the deadline. Well as every contest has rules even CodeForFreedom has rules and u have to abide by them. You can check the following link for the rules and other details.

http://in.sun.com/communities/univ/codeforfreedom/

This contest aims at spreading the awareness about free software. It is not that people dont know about free software but just that when you actually work, it is a different experience all together. The rules that say u have to use only open source software are only intended to encourage people to feel the beauty that lies within. Well if you have any other doubts do feel free to ask. All the people here in the mailing list are here to help and share. And people do correct me if am wrong. Happy coding :)

Thanks for your support anyways my mates. Neha, I loved your comments.

A special thanks to Aditya Singh :) I didn't understand the Hindi part but it's definitely kind a Kool.

Ravi D Suvarna, I got your point of view :) but allow me to add that I've been using Sun Products for such a long time and I don't launch a complaint to it nor to the knowledge I acquire everyday, I launch a clear complaint to the way I was misinformed by my instructors therefore I launch a complaint to Mr. Tirthankar Das and Mr. Amit Saha, I rely on SUN and I believe in this group, specially this one as it has done something really good to me as well.

Regards.
